The body of late Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Ojo Maduekwe departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja and arrived at Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri. The former Minster of Transport passed away on at his residence in Abuja on June 29th, shortly after returning from the US. He was aged 71.

Militants attack NPDC oil installation in Delta state

A militant group named Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, have attacked two oil installation owned by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company NPDC at Owhrode community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. According to local sources, the attack occurred this morning at about 2am. NPDC maintenance team have arrived the scene of the attack to carryout repairs.

A statement released today by the advocacy group for the missing Chibok girls, Bring Back Our Girls, states that the group will from Monday August 22nd commence actions that will compel the Federal government and international community to take decisive measures towards the rescue of the kidnapped Chibok school girls. One prison officer and at least 13 prison inmates are feared to have died in the failed jailbreak attempt at Abakaliki prison in Ebonyi state yesterday August 18th. The inmates at about 9am began protesting poor condition of living, complaining that the prison officers give them small quantity of food to eat. During the protest, they used dangerous weapons on prison officials.

Boko Haram ambush Immigration officials on UN assignment in Borno, scores of civilians feared dead

Dozens of Boko Haram terrorists and civilians have been reportedly killed after militants ambushed Immigration officials on United Nations assignments along Maiduguri - Dikwa road in central Borno state.

The incident occurred at Gwajibo village in Dikwa Local Government, while convoy of vehicles carrying Nigeria Immigration officials and some civilians was returning from Gamboru Ngala to Maiduguri on Monday at2:30pm.
