Kimberly Martines, 23, has been charged with murder

According to local media reports, Kimberly Martines, aged 23, gave little Peyton a spoonful of salt and shortly afterwards the girl started suffering seizures.


She had been admitted to hospital and put on life support but it was too late — soon doctors declared her brain-dead.

Commenting on the killing Barry Barnette, a lawyer of Mrs Martines, said: “She (Martines) basically did that to try and get her husband’s attention — to get him back into her life.”

Peyton’s family paid tribute to Peyton in a touching statement: “She never cried and was a silly baby making everyone laugh.  You could not help but smile when you was around her. She was a little diva who loved her nails done and her favorite thing ever was Minnie Mouse.”
